Mammoet
is a worldwide specialist in heavy and extremely heavy lifting and
transport projects headquartered in the Netherlands. In its current
form, the company is the outcome of the combination of forces in
2001 of Van Seumeren and Mammoet, two major global players in the
heavy lift market.
Mammoet, with
a turnover for 2000 in excess of EUR 300 million, is a member of
the Van Seumeren Group (NL). The company has about 1,500 staff,
operating from locations in Europe, North and South America (including
Canada), Asia, the Middle East and South Africa. Its activities
are concentrated in almost equal measure in Europe, the Americas
and Asia.
The company
is run by Frans van Seumeren (51, Chief Executive Officer) and Frits
van Riet (56, Chief Operating Officer).
Broad
array of services
With thirty years' experience, high safety and quality standards
and an excellent track record, Mammoet can offer a broad array of
services all over the world. Major clients are active in the petrochemical
and chemical industries, offshore construction, mining, the energy
sector and civil and hydraulic engineering.
The company's quality is founded on the wealth of technical know-how
that it can apply to engineer the projects. Many of the larger projects
are unique, demanding innovative solutions to overcome exceptional
local circumstances. Projects at factories and petrochemical plants
in full operation, for example, put safety at a premium. Highly
trained, experienced personnel and advanced equipment are the key
to success.
Specialised
equipment
In addition to the many complicated turnkey projects, Mammoet provides
countless horizontal and vertical transport services. Mammoet's
locations are armed with an impressive arsenal of specialised heavy
lifting and horizontal transport equipment. Its cranes can lift
objects up to 4400 tonnes.
Selfpropelled modular platform trailers, coupled in hundreds of
axle units can transport complete offshore decks and chemical factories.
